Stubhub.com shows tickets such as this reaching over $250 as Husker
fans prove how dedicated they really can be.
Apparently having the NCAA record for consecutive sellouts wasn't enough for Husker fans when it comes to showing team pride. Anyone associated with Nebraska football whether being an actual member of the team or just the average fan knows the annual Husker spring game has picked up in popularity year after year and is something to behold. .
Out of every college football team in the country, Nebraska garnered the most fan attendance in 2008 with an eye-popping 80,149 red clad Husker followers. With the number of fans attending the game growing each year, it's no surprise that the prices for fans scrounging for tickets would raise as the demand grows and the game inches closer. OK so maybe the price of some tickets are nothing short or astonishing.
Sportsbybrooks.com is now reporting that stubhub has tickets on sale for the April 18, red-white scrimmage reaching prices of 253 dollars each. While there is no chance I would spend that kind of dough for a seat, I can't say I blame the University for having fans pay for tickets. If the school knows that tickets will be in high demand, why not charge a few bucks and make some money? Besides, those aren't the schools prices, normal tickets were on say by NU were only approximately five dollars.
However I must admit the article greatly downplays the success the Huskers had this past season. With statements such as. "It’s a fun day of tailgating without having to worry that your team will lose to Toledo. Also stating, "perhaps Nebraska fans are just excited that the Huskers will be playing someone they can beat." Harsh words for a website that clearly hasn't experienced the aura of a Husker game and apparently didn't watch this year's Gator Bowl
While I strongly urge anyone who hasn't been to the spring game to go out and experience the excitement, I certainly don't recommend spending up wards of 250 bucks! Husker fans never cease to amaze me, which is just another great reason to love this team.

In 2008 I'm pretty sure someone ended up blowing away our attendance numbers though it was not widely reported.
In 2007 Alabama had over 92,000 (which I believe is the record) but came back down to around 79,000 in 2008. Nebraska led all teams last season. Tickets were approximately 5-10 dollars when bought from the University.

That's correct, Alabama's was, and is free of cost.
