Nunn's career was a pleasant surprise to Nebraska fans.
After revealing that the team had tryouts for three un-named wide receivers last week, the New England Patriots have announced the signing of one of those receivers, Terrence Nunn. The signing is indeed a surprising one as it appeared that Nunn wasn't on any teams radar after Nebraska's pro day. Not only is it good to see yet another Husker signed via free agency this season, but tons of credit goes out to Terrence and his never-say-die attitude. Considering Nunn didn't play professional football at all in 2008, it's very impressive that the former Houston standout was able to keep himself in great football shape in order to make another attempt in 2009. I guess it goes to show what staying positive can do for ones future.
Theres no doubt it will be extreme uphill climb for the former Husker, but playing the underdog roll is nothing new to Nunn. Coming into Nebraska, Nunn appeared to be more of a "filler" to a recruiting class that was lacking in numbers due to the limited of time Bill Callahan had after being hired in December. However, Nunn saw playing time as early as his freshman year and never looked back. According to ESPN.com, Nunn, Nebraska's second all-time leading receiver, finished his career with strong statistics which included 136 receptions, 1,762 yards and 11 touchdowns.
While at New England, Nunn will have the odds stacked against him when it comes to actually making the team. Currently Nunn joins a rather aging receiver core that includes Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Joey Galloway and Sam Aiken. The Patriots also spent their second round pick in the NFL Draft a couple weeks ago to select wide receiver Brandon Tate from North Carolina. One thing Nunn has to hold onto is New England's love with Nebraska. Nunn now joins former Huskers Titus Adams, Russ Hochstein and LeKevin Smith on the Patriots roster.

If I remember right, Nunn actually started his first game as a freshman vs Western Illinois but saw his PT decrease a bit as the year went on...
