The Detroit Pistons have fired Head Coach Michael Curry after only one season. Curry posted a record of 39-43, securing the Pistons the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. Detroit was swept in the playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"This was a difficult decision to make," Pistons president Joe Dumars said. "I want to thank Michael for his hard work and dedication to the organization. However, at this time, I have decided to make a change."
For years Curry was touted as a natural head coach for the way he related to players. When the season began he rubbed his stars Rip Hamilton and Allen Iverson the wrong way by moving each player in and out of the starting lineup.
The Pistons were once the team to fear in the East, now they are in shambles.
It comes as no coincidence that just two weeks ago Detroit Shock Coach Bill Laimbeer resigned for no rhyme or reason. Laimbeer is a former Piston and won three WNBA titles with the Shock. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes over the reigns for the Pistons.

W-T-F!!
I am surprised. Curry and Dumars seemed to be on the same page at one point.
Just weeks ago Dumars said that Curry would not be fired. Something changed! Terry Porter was fired by the Suns after 3 months on the job. Curry takes his team to the playoffs and gets the boot. Coaches are getting shorter leashes in the NBA these days.
I see... owners and fans want instant results.
