After a couple of suspenseful weeks, Nemanja Bejelica finally has a basketball destination for next season and it is in Spain.
The 22-year-old forward, who the Minnesota Timberwolves recently selected with the 35th overall selection in the 2010 NBA Draft, has signed a five-year agreement with Caja Laboral of the ACB league.
Originally selected by the Washington Wizards, Bjelica was traded on draft-day along with Lazar Hayward (30th pick overall) to Minnesota for the 23rd selection, Trevor Booker, and the 56th overall selection, Hamady N'Diaye.
Bjelica proved to be a difficult catch for Caja Laboral, as the 6-foot-10, 235-pound player was courted by a number of clubs including Olympiacos of the Greek League and the Timberwolves organization.
The Serbian-born forward spent the last two seasons playing for Red Star of the Serbian Super League, where, during 2009-10, he averaged 18.1 ppg and 7.2 rpg.
Bjelica now joins another recent Caba Laboral signing, Marcus Haislip, to form one of the more imposing front-courts in the ACB.
