Medical advances

June 20 in Santa Rosa from 1:00 to 4:00 pm

Join Burton Goldberg, publisher of 18 books and founder of 'Alternative Medicine'  magazine in this important lecture on advances in western and alternative methods to treat even late stage disease.

Burton put together a film called,"Cancer Conquest." This film highlights  physicians who successfully use low dose chemotherapy, vaporize tumors with a strong magnetic field, show how a molecular oncologist uses DNA to select the right chemo for the individual patient, hypothermia (heating the body with high temperatures that cancer cells cannot tolerate) and more. Learn how one doctor uses dendretic cell therapy to teach the immune system to target cancer cells with the use of a specialized German blood test. Dendritic cells, which can activate T cells, work by looking around, finding antigens, and showing them to the fighter T cells. Researchers have found ways to increase the number of dendritic cells in a vaccine.

As an added bonus, Drs. Munoz, who claims to have a high success rate with even dire cases of illness and Dr. Forsythe, an American oncologist in Reno, who both combine the best of conventional medicine with alternative therapies will be presenting their work. They will talk about the root cause of disease, non-toxic and successful treatments for reversing cancer and how food affects us. In Mr. Goldberg's words:

"The way chemotherapy is practiced in this country is medieval. It is cookbook medicine.  You must treat the person who has the cancer not the cancer or tumor alone. It requires  systemic life style changes and detoxification.

I believe we must use the best of both worlds, integrating conventional and alternative. The primary cancer is not often the  killer, it is the disseminated cells that mutate. We are looking for cancer in the wrong place and that is why some integrated doctors are having an 80% success rate with end stage cancers. Integrative doctors treat whole person, not just a local tumor mass. Cancer is a systemic disease. In 1900 cancer was the sixth cause of death, today it is approaching number one in the U.S. There is another way of doing things that is not insane, where you don't lose your hair, vomit and have only a 20% chance of coming out healthy."

Burton's book, "An Alternative Medicine Definitive Guide to Cancer" highlights 37 top alternative medicine doctors. It talks about how the body doesn't have a mechanism for eliminating many of the hundreds of thousands of chemical toxins, plastics, hydrocarbons and pesticides we are assaulted with daily. It talks about the role of nutrition and how we have not been trained to listen to our bodies.

"Dendritic cells, which can activate T cells, work by looking around, finding antigens, and showing them to the fighter T cells. Researchers have found ways to increase the number of dendritic cells in a vaccine."

The only bit of fact is the first bit, "Dendritic cells, which can activate T cells," after that it all becomes fiction.

DC are antigen presenting cells. They don't "work by looking around". They produce peptides that are presented on MHC Class I and II molecules to T cells.

There are no DC in vaccines. There never has been, never will be. You can't use adaptive transfer as a vaccine delivery system. The unlicensed adjuvant CpG will boost the DC response, but vaccine don't have DC's in them.

If the rest of the book is as accurate as this section, it should be up for a Booker Prize as a great work of fiction. Not fact.
