There's a fundamental and fatal flaw in humans that is very sad. Even though:
* Just one insurance executive's BONUS can be upwards of $10,000,000.00 - $20,000,000.00 a year, which would save enormous suffering for tens of thousands of families; some who have gone bankrupt from a family member getting sick, and
* Even though healthcare reform is directly tied to the recovery of the economy and
* Even though it is a known fact that politicians are famous for distorting facts and Republicans have made an art of it (as outlined in the book, "Don't think of an Elephant" by George Lakoff) and,
* Even though insurance companies are making record profits while almost 50 million women, men and children are without any health insurance and
* And even though the majority of Americans believe health care needs to be fundamentally changed, shockingly there is opposition to reforming the very inadequate and sick health care system we now have. High level executives, corporations and people who can afford health care are thriving off other people's suffering.
How is that possible? What is it in the human frame that allows such oversight? Obviously the system of checks and balances that a healthy functioning system has to keep parasites in their proper place is not working.
It seems like there's a fundamental flaw in the underlying thinking that goes on around this issue.
Let us pray.
And in the meantime let us educate ourselves.
