Traci Simpson Robertson, who was previously interviewed in an earlier Examiner spotlight article (see link below) is the creative force behind Satin Soul Natural Wear.
She also makes a line of all natural products - Satin Blends. Satin Blends consists of hair and scalp treatments, body butters, bath salts, foot scrubs and more. Her Satin Soul Wear line can be purchased via the Satin Blends website.
Below, Traci shares the inspiration behind her latest creations, Satin Soul Natural Wear - SSNW.
What started as a vision…
My inspiration for Satin Soul Natural Wear came from my love of graphic Tee's. One morning I woke up and had a vision of having my own Natural T-shirt and Accessory Line.
In excitement, after getting my thoughts together, I called my Cousin Greg and asked if he would help me.
Since I rock my afro and flowers in my hair, I wanted the Satin Soul Natural Wear logo to be a Lady with an Afro and a flower.
My Cousin Greg drew the SSNW logo and printed my first batch of shirts. Within two months from "The Vision", Satin Soul Natural Wear was Launched!
Inspiration behind the design…
In the SSNW logo, the Lady rocking her Afro and Hair flower is also rocking a HOT pair of SS earrings. The SS earrings, in her ears, represent an S for Satin, and an S for Soul.
Loving the SS earrings in the SSNW logo, I called my Sistah Friend Gina and asked if she would replicate the same SS earrings to match the T-shirt. Gina replicated the SS earrings exclusively for Satin Soul Natural Wear.
Along with the T-shirts and SS Earrings, I make handmade hair flowers that come in a variety of colors.
From this experience, I've learned that within one vision are smaller visions that help piece together the entire vision!

Satin Soul Natural Wear Line currently consists of T-shirts, Earrings and Handmade Hair Accessories. Fans can look forward to more HOT SSNW T-shirt designs. The SSNW T-Shirt & Accessory collection will be expanded to include Men & Children Wear.
