During the holiday season, one of the special treats for visitors to the White House (President's Park) is the opportunity to see the Official White House Christmas Tree on display in the Blue Room. This year's tree arrived at the North Portico on Friday, November 27, 2009.
In the video and slide show below, is a look at the presentation of this special tree to First Lady Michelle Obama. She and daughters Sasha and Malia got their first look at the 18-1/2-foot Douglas fir arrived on the traditional horse drawn carriage to the North Portico.
From the Shepherdstown, West Virginia, farm of Eric and Gloria Sundback, the tree is 13 years old. The Sundbacks were also on hand for the presentation.
