Defending NASCAR K&N Pro Series East champion and current points leader in that series, Ryan Truex, will make his Nationwide Series debut this month when he climbs behind the wheel of a Michael Waltrip Racing entry on July 17 at Gateway International Raceway. He will pilot a NAPA-sponored No. 00 entry and will be a teammate to the team's regular Nationwide Series driver, Trevor Bayne.

"I want to thank NAPA Auto Parts for all they have done for me," Truex said. I'm just excited to finally get started and have them onboard for the Gateway race."

While the start will be Truex's first in the Nationwide Series, he'll hear a familiar voice in his ear. His K&N crew chief, Mike Greci, will make the start with him as his crew chief.

Truex is also expected to make five additional Nationwide starts after the Gateway race. Other series races on Truex's schedule for this year are ones at Michigan International Speedway, Richmond International Raceway, Kansas Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

"I look forward to watching Ryan make his first start in the Nationwide Series," older brother, Sprint Cup driver and former Nationwide Series champion Martin Truex Jr. said. "It's going to be a big day for him. It's been fun to watch his progress. He hasn't been racing very long, and he's come a long way as a driver."

He plans to move to the Nationwide Series full-time in 2011, sponsorship pending.
