I, the Detroit NASCAR examiner, and all the examiner staff want these fans to know that they are in our hearts and prayers and we wish them all a speedy recovery.

They were injured during this incident on the final lap of today’s Sprint Cup race.

Now that fans have been injured, and before we lose a NASCAR driver in any series, the double yellow line rule at Talladega must be examined. This will continue to happen as drivers wreck other drivers coming to the checkered flag.

I don’t know what the answer is, but having cars wreck each other that injures the fans is not the answer. Before someone gets hurt more seriously this needs to be addressed.
