Debi is the soul owner and operator since 1994. She has had her cosmetology license since 1982. She enjoys taking continued education courses. She loves the science of hair in all aspects. There is a fascinating story behind the artistic creation of the name. Debi’s friend Jack Hirst owned the original salon back in the 60’s. Four Seasons Hair Salon was a very popular and hip shop. It was da shop. Debi worked with her friend, and then purchased it from him and renovated it and renamed it. It makes sense doesn’t it? Well that’s not all. Also another factor was that most of the customers she serviced were her friends and their friends. I thought that was amazing.
My Friend’s Place is a friendly, caring, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. This was extremely important to Debi. She wanted to be certain that the image and reflection of her salon was anything but pretentious. She strives to achieve and accommodate her clients’ needs and expectations of reasonable pricing. For heaven sake it’s $78 for a color and a cut. Those prices are astounding! A corporate competitor charges $65 just for a haircut with a senior stylist. Then add your gratuity and you are out the door practically paying the same amount of money if not more and you didn’t even receive a color process. Today, especially with our economic crisis, any bit helps to be sensible and reasonable with your money. And the credibility, that’s not bad….. 17 years in business. I definitely applaud that, she is obviously doing something right. Repeat business is the key and client satisfaction is the goal.
This now leads us to the salon specific specialties. All their hair products used are made from natural ingredients. Debi chose organic products not only for her customers but also for herself. The high amount of fumes started to really bother her. Some of her clients, as well as herself began to develop irritation and allergic reactions to certain products and chemicals.
Like a true scientist, she decided to explore all possibilities. In order to keep her clients safe and happy she decided to test all the products prior to offering them in a service. She and her employees would test the product for a complete six months prior to exposing a client to it. She wanted to be certain that the products did not consist of any toxins and that they were safe and had no side effects. First, she would test out the products on herself and her staff for six months. She uses All-Nutrient, an FDA certified organic color line. This product is sulfate and paraben free.
