760 KFMB AM is a talk radio station hosting such conservative luminaries as Michael Savage, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin. Today, below the Wiener Dog racing and ads for Glen Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally is a fun little poll that asks listeners:
During a time of war, should we register as many practicing Muslims as we can find in a national database?
No - it’s an invasion of privacy.
Yes- gun owners have to, why not Muslims?
Currently, 70% of those polled are in favor of forced registration for American Muslims. Granted, this is not a representative sampling of the general population, but it none the less contributes to a disturbing trend of national opinion about Islam.
Jenn Chou is the National Anti-establishment Examiner and a member of CopBlock, a decentralized project of writers and activists dedicated to holding rogue cops accountable by filming their behavior and publishing it online. Jenn writes:
"Forced registration is exactly what the Nazis did to the Jewish population of Germany. The Nazis did not kill 6 million Jewish people overnight and go from being perfectly amicable one day to burning them in ovens the next. It started with small steps. Read More"
But one need not look so far as Germany. Right here in American Census data was used to round up the Japanese during WWII. In fact, this year the US Census Bureau sent representatives to the events of numerous Islamic organizations to sooth concerns Muslims had about submitting their personal data to a government so openly hostile to them. At one event Steven Tupolo from the US Census Bureau assured me that by law the US Census Bureau does not share personal data with any other agency. That it is compiled for statistical purposes only. But when I asked if they couldn't just change the law he said, "Sure, Congress has the right to change the law whenever." Not a lot of assurance there. I personally think Muslims would be better served to side with Republicans and Libertarians against the US Census and it's lack of Constitutional basis.
The fact is the government already has as much information on Muslims as they want without a national database. The Bay Area CAIR chapter reports that the FBI visits at least one Bay Area Muslim per week, and that’s just the cases reported to them. Jenn is absolutely correct that whatever rights violations the state cooks up will occur in small steps. Like the myth that you can cook a frog alive if you place it cold water and increase the temperature gradually. Free societies always descend into authoritarianism by a slow fair-seeming incrementalism. As Sinclair Lewis put it, “When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and waving a cross.”
I'll tell you one thing my dear reader, if they ever demand that Muslims register on a national database, they'll have to prove that I'm Muslim in front of 12 of my peers. I for one will not comply.

The US Census does have a constitutional basis.
Article 1, Section 2: "The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct."
And so did they find slavery, constitutional. Do not be so eager to believe in these absolute truths, and do not believe the written word--for it is written, and read by man.
Very good.... and the constitutionalist position is to only tell them the actual enumeration of people and refuse to answer any questions about race, income or anything else.
This applies only to "counting heads" and not to the race, ancestry etc. But these questions are also asked, as well as others.
I refused to give any information other then the number of people in my household. A census worker came to my door and I still refused to give more information. I never heard from them again.
A very slippery slope =" I personally think Muslims would be better served to side with Republicans and Libertarians against the US Census and it's lack of Constitutional basis.” Isn’t that a rather slippery slope considering that they are the vary groups that would have you register? The likes of Michael Savage, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin, Glen Beck , Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Koch brothers, Rush Limbaugh, et al. This is one part of the problems with the Patriot Act, this is the group that did everything possible to define being an American as them and ONLY them. No one else knows how, no even close enough. And they want to define Patriotism again on the backs of Muslims because they are the only people in this country that are right. It would actually seem that they would be the ones who start the wars and send everyone‘s children off to war and if I were a betting person, I‘d bet the Sarah Palin‘s son was very protect when he went into the military. So go ahead align your self with them, and when in the name of Christianity they come after you remember I told you. Because they have even cooped Christianity to serve their purposes. Remember who’s hand were all over the manipulation of the media with regards to the new mosque in New York. You need to remember the story of the snake and the little girl that pick 'him' up...he's cold and almost frozen and needs to cross the river, asking for help, but you are a snake and if I pick you up you will bite me and I will die. If I bite you I will drown and die too, she picks him up, puts him inside her coat to warm and starts to carry him across the river, half way across she feels a bite, as she is dieing she looks inside her coat to ask why, you knew I was a snake when you picked me up.
Our government doesn't kill in the name of God. It kills in our name.
WHAT???????
I wonder what kind of response would we have if the pollsters had asked, "Do you believe that Muslims when ooutdoors should wear an identifiacation mark for our safety such as a green arm band with a crescent?"
Sorry buddy, the Iranians have already taken that symbol.
I’m afraid that soon they’re going to want to start putting crescents on the backs of Muslims.
