Imam Safi Khan teaches Janazah Workshop this Saturday, March 13, 2010 at PGMA, Lanham, MD

This Saturday, March 13, 2010, Imam Safi Khan of Dar-us-Salaam is scheduled to teach a Janazah Workshop at the Prince George's Muslim Association (PGMA) from 10am – 2pm. PGMA is located at 9150 Lanham Severn Road in Lanham, Maryland. The workshop is free, but registration is required. The workshop will be held in the Main Hall.

This class is described as:

“This class covers the Islamic viewpoint of death and dying, along with an explanation of the Islamic method of washing, shrouding, praying for and burying a deceased person. Attendees will participate in a hands-on demonstration of the washing and shrouding process. Due to the subject matter covered in this class, attendance is limited to adults and youth 14 and older.

Those participants who successfully pass a written and practical examination, usually held approximately one month after the workshop, will be awarded a certificate of competency and have the option to add their name to a list of volunteers who are willing and able to help in the event of a death.”

Childcare will not be available and children 13 years and younger will not be allowed in the class.
