The Taylor Swift Grammy Awards controversy has a new player in American Idol prototype Kelly Clarkson.

Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta drew fire from Clarkson after defending his client Taylor Swift's abyssmal Grammy Awards medley performance on Sunday by saying:

“This is not ‘American Idol.’ This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator."

Kelly Clarkson inserted herself into the Taylor Swift Grammy Awards controversy by responding to Borchetta Thursday on her blog, by saying:

"You might see why it's upsetting to read you attacking American Idol for producing simply vocalists that hit 'the high notes'. Thank you for that 'Captain Obvious' sense of humor because you know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the 'right' notes as well."

Kelly Clarkson signed her post "One of those contestants from American Idol who only made it because of her high notes".

Taylor Swift's album 'Fearless' earned the 'Best Album of the Year' title at this year's Grammy Awards, one of four Awards she won that night. Some entertainment analysts feel that the ruthless criticism of Swift's performance is simply backlash from those who think success has come to the teen starlet too young.

I think Taylor Swift is talented but she was awful at the Grammy's. I also am fed up of all the people who hate on the talent that comes out of American Idol- you have to take your chances where you can get them.
