Eddie Money took a break from relative obscurity to appear at Saturday Night's Liberty Bowl Game halftime showl in Memphis, Tennessee.
Eddie Money, swaddled in a giant wool pea coat, delivered a rousing (albeit lip-synched) rendition of his classic 'Two Tickets to Paradise' for a confused but enthusiastic crowd while dozens of cheerleaders formed impressive pyramids behind him.
Fans in the Liberty Bowl crowd appeared to be collectively asking themselves: "Is that really Eddie Money? What is he doing here?" as the 80s star lip-synched and pumped his fist vigorously to the music. Eddie Money showed the 2010 crowd he knew how to put on a show by emphatically holding up 2 fingers every time he belted the line 'Two Tickets to Paradise.' A horde of screaming cheerleaders swarmed the Eddie Money stage during the performance like it was 1978.
Perhaps even more bizarre than seeing Eddie Money perform the lesser of his two hits (the greater being 1986's 'Take Me Home Tonight') was the fact that ESPN showed only a short snippet of the performance and left confused viewers to troll the internet looking for more crumbs of kitschy madness.
