American Idol castoff Alex Lambert is still living the dream in Hollywood.
After the 19-year-old Texas native was booted from American Idol just shy of this season's Top 12, a fan collected tens of thousands of signatures demanding that Lambert be reinstated. Though producers didn't bend the Idol rules to bring Alex Lambert back, someone at parent company 19 Entertainment latched on to Lambert's heat and found the country boy a new Hollywood gig.
Alex Lambert is now part of the online reality show "If I Can Dream". "If I Can Dream" allows fans to watch industry hopefuls like Alex Lambert live in an online fishbowl while they navigate the Hollywood jungle. The online show also offers the opportunity for hopefuls to send in their audition tapes to join Lambert and his co-stars in their Big-Brother-esque living art piece.
If I Can Dream has also been featuring visits from American Idol's latest weekly castoffs. Alex Lambert hosted a taco night for Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens when they were booted off Idol last week. Rejected crooner of the week Tim Urban is scheduled to swing by the livestreaming pad Friday night.

Alex Lambert is NOTHING compared to Adam Lambert. This kid has no look or voice. And he'll never have a hit like WDYWFM.
I beg to differ; I believe that Alex Lambert is amazing and talented with his soulful, sometimes raspy, sometimes soothing and gentle, sometimes belting, sometimes falsetto voice. Alex does not glam it up like Adam Lambert, but they are two different types of singers.
Also, if 20,000 people went to change.org to petition for this singer to be reinstated on AI, I think he may have some talent going on there.
So, I beg to differ. I love Alex Lambert's sound and soul, and I can't wait for his first album.
True Lambert -he has no voice? I think he has one of the most unique voices on the show. His voice is raspy and very somewhat depressing but it works for him. You can always tell its him singing because his voice (partly due to his light Texan accent) is so unique and that he doesn't try to sound like the original artist.
I think he better than ANY of the male performers this season and his ouster was based on the fact he didn't have the "look" not that he didn't have the talent.
Adam Lambert, I simply don't get.
Adam and Alex are two very different artists. I think it is silly to compare them. I wish them both good luck!!!!
True Lambert: LMAO! Thank god he sounds nothing like Adam. I can't stand that theatrical fairy.
Alex Lambert is not even comparable to Adam. Alex has such a great voice. Once Alex hits the radio people will be saying "Adam who?"
