*Thom Yorke
Thom Yorke, front man for Radiohead is the latest artist to be tied to the soundtrack for the upcoming Twilight's New Moon.
Music in movies have come a long way since it first started being used as white noise to block out a loud projector. Soundtracks have now evolved to setting moods for certain scenes and gaining exposure for artists that either need it, or don't
Thom Yorke is not hurting for exposure, he fronts Radiohead which is a popular band from the UK that has success around the world. Their last album was released 2 years ago, and Radiohead fans will be satisfied to hear new and original material from Yorke, even if it is via the New Moon soundtrack.
Kings of Leon have been approached to create an original score for the movie, but as of yet have pleasantly declined citing that they are busy. Lead singer Caleb Followill states, “I would have to write a song in my hotel room, which I think we could do, but I don't know,” he said. “As of right now I'm more focused on getting some rest and writing another album."
Singer/songwriter Bon Iver is not a maybe, but a definite yes for the soundtrack and has stated that he wrote a song specifically for the film already.
With the movie coming out in October I am sure in the weeks to come more big names in the music industry will be revealed to have a song on the upcoming New Moon's soundtrack.
