Grand prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, as well as two-time Independent Music Award winner, Rachael Sage, will be performing at San Diego's Lestat's on September 11, at 8:30p.m.
Sage, fresh from a successful run in Scotland at Edinburgh's Fringe Festival, will be bringing her new show "Sequins & Shpiel" to the West Coast and through San Diego. Sage's sound is described as "a healthy mix of vaudevillian shtick, playful Yiddishkeit and her signature pianistic flair". Her newest album, Chandelier is self-produced and mixed by Kevin Killen who has worked with the likes of U2 and Elvis Costello. Sage's sound has been described by Performing Songwriter Magazine as "engaging pop arrangements and gripping melodies".
Those interested, can listen to snippets of the album on her Myspace page. First thoughts, as her voice layers over the music and melody, will remind you of Jewel in her early years.
