Worst Press Release Ever: Lil Wayne

You know he'd like to touch your lovely
lady lumps, so long as they're not cancerous

I got my review copy of Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III in the mail recently and the CD's great, but the press release it came with is a train wreck. Keep in mind this was put together by a major record company for possibly the biggest album of the year. Snarky commentary in italics.

Tha Carter III

Unquestionably Cash Money/Universal Motown Records recording artist, Lil Wayne will go down in history as the best rapper of his generation. I promise not to ask any questions if you promise to use commas correctly.

According to MTV, Lil Wayne has released more music in the past two years than the legendary Tupac Shakur. If Shakur was alive, though, he would have given him a run for his money.

Tha Carter III is an eclectic collection of 15 songs that range from simply brilliant to sheer genius. There are 16 songs on the disc by my and my CD player's count, but perhaps one is neither simply brilliant nor sheer genius but superduper brillgenius classicawesome!

From the streets, to the stage, to radio, video and cyberspace, Cash Money/Universal Motown hip-hop superstar Lil Wayne is today the indisputable ruler of 2008. But only today. Tomorrow there will be a new ruler of 2008. And no one will dispute it.

Tha Carter III, universally acknowledged as the most-anticipated release of the year, has already been opening the record book and rewriting it daily, as four different advance tracks have created a one-man traffic jam at the top of the charts. As The New Yorker would say, "Block that metaphor!"

Unquestionably and universally acknowledged to be craptastic.
