Watchmen movie score and soundtrack out today

The soundtrack and original score to the much-anticipated film “Watchmen,” which hits theaters Mar. 6, pre-empted the movie’s release today.  “Music From The Motion Picture Watchmen,” the film's official soundtrack, includes My Chemical Romance's dramatic reinterpretation of Bob Dylan's "Desolation Row," which was recorded exclusively for the film.   “Watchmen Original Motion Picture Score” features Tyler Bates score. Bates also worked with “Watchmen” director Zack Snyderon on “300” and the remake of “Dawn of the Dead.” His other soundtrack credits impressively include another remake, “ The Day the Earth Stood Still,” along with Showtime's “Californication,” “Slither,” and Rob Zombie's “Halloween.” Bates was also chosen to score the “Watchmen's” DVD extra, a story titled "Tales From The Black Freighter."

Both albums were released on CD and digitally today. Anticipating the collect-ability value of ephemera linked to such a film as "Watchmen," a vinyl edition of the soundtrack will be released Mar. 17 and a “Watchmen” singles box set containing seven 7-inch vinyl picture discs, one for each of the Watchmen, plus the original Silk Spectre, will be released Mar. 24, exclusively here.  Pre-order now.

I have read the book, but not seen the movie, though am looking forward to the July 21 release of the dvd. It was good to hear your preview of the music. (I have posted a book group discussion guide for this novel at "Watchmen: get your book group to read it before the dvd comes out.)
