Elton John was hospitalized with an e-coli infection and the flu in London this weekend, postponing the start of his co-headlining Face2Face Tour with Billy Joel.
The tour was scheduled to to start Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Seattle, WA, with a second show at the KeyArena Nov. 7. The Nov. 10 show in Portland, OR, was also postponed. According to a post on Billy Joel's website, "All patrons who have purchased tickets for these concerts at the Key Arena, and the Rose Garden Arena, are being asked to hold on to their tickets until more information is available regarding the proposed rescheduled engagements."
John, 62, is suffering from "a serious case of e-coli bacterial infection and influenza," according to his website, and postponed shows in England, Ireland, and the United States under the advisement of his doctor.
Domestic dates on the summer leg of the Face2Face tour were canceled in July when Joel, 60, was also sidelined by "flu-like symptoms" and "extreme fatigue."
Promoters are hoping to reschedule the Seattle and Portland dates in December.
The Face2Face Tour begins with Elton John and Billy Joel onstage together, continues with solo sets from each, and concludes with them both returning to the stage together.
