Bon Jovi debuted at No. 1 on this week's Billboard 200, marking the second time in their career that the New Jersey rockers have had back-to-back albums enter at the top of the chart.
The Circle sold nearly 163,000 albums in its first week, holding off last week's top three albums. Andrea Bocelli jumped from third to second this week, selling 136,000 copies of My Christmas, Carrie Underwood's Play On sold 128,000 copies and fell from first to third, and Michael Jackson's This Is It soundtrack sold 117,000 copies to drop from second to fourth.
Bon Jovi also debuted at No. 1 with Lost Highway in 2007. The only other time they had back-to-back releases enter at the top spot was with Slippery When Wet and New Jersey in 1986 and 1988. The four albums are the band's only releases to reach No. 1 on the Top 200, though they have had ten albums reach the Top 10, including their last nine studio efforts.
Powered by her Saturday Night Live appearance and a four-trophy night at the CMAs, pop sensation Taylor Swift sold 91,000 copies of Fearless, moving up a spot to No. 5. Her self-titled debut climbed 17 notches to No. 36, moving 16,000 units (up from 11,000 the week before). She has now sold 4.4 million copies of her debut and 4.3 millions copies of Fearless.
Female-fronted Christian hard rockers Flyleaf entered the chart at No. 8, selling 56,000 copies.
Michael Buble's Crazy Love climbed a rung to No. 7, while the remainder of the Top 10 was rounded out by compilations, Now 32 falling a spot to No. 6, the Glee soundtrack falling five places to No. 9, and the New Moon soundtrack holding steady at No. 10.
Lady Antebellum also saw a big CMA spike, jumping thirteen places to No. 11, more than doubling their previous week's sales at 45,000.
Switchfoot (38,504 copies sold) and Dashboard Confessional (30,000) were the week's only other Top 20 debuts, entering at No. 13 and 19.
