An Empty Stage at the club--photo by Pat Adams
I just got word from Boots, the owner of the club Windows Off The Cumberland, that they had a "major electrical meltdown" and would be canceling the music for the weekend. This includes the monthly Play It Again Jam, sponsored by Tennessee Concerts and the club.
According to Boots, the cooler is out of order as well as the air conditioning and the earliest someone will be able to get there to work on the power will be Monday. That pretty much makes enjoying a cold one or sitting and listening to music, this weekend, out of the question. This heat wave we're experiencing would have the potential of heating up the club to 90º or more, and it is presumed (wisely so, I think) that folks would rather do something else with their weekend than sit and bake, drinking warm beer.
For those who would have been coming to the Play It Again Jam, fear not. The jam will be coming back around next month with all the regular players and any souls who wish to bring an instrument and add to the mix. Contact the Music City Beat for times and dates.
