NATHANSON: I love U2. They are one of my favorite bands. The Edge is an excellent guitar player. I even know who his tech is when I see him play live.
I am waiting to see the “Let’s Get Loud” movie. Have you seen it yet?
EXAMINER: Yes and proceeds to tell him all about the movie premiere that was held that week.
EXAMINER: Your music has been featured on several TV shows such as “ Private Practice and NCIS. Do you think that has helped push your success?
NATHANSON: Yes, it did but all of this are just pieces of the puzzle of promoting this record. I have been promoting and touring for this record for two years now.
EXAMINER: Do you have any touring plans for the summer?
NATHANSON: Yes, I have tour dates with Sugarland, Indio Girls and some with AOR. Then in the fall I will be doing a headlining tour.
EXAMINER: Do you have any words of advice or any inspiring words for a new artist?
NATHANSON: You have to be crazy enough to want the challenge yet too stupid enough so to speak to rush it or expect it to be short and easy.
EXAMINER: I first heard your song” Come On Get Higher” on late night when you were the VH1 You Outa Know Artist.
NATHANSON: Yes that was great, seeing the video on TV at 3:30 in the morning.
EXAMINER: You been on a lot of late night shows like The Late Show with David Letterman, Conan O’Brien (etc) promoting your songs. How was that experience?
NATHANSON: The late night shows were great. I was the most excited about doing Letterman because he said that he was a big fan. I haven’t met a rude host yet.

Then the guy in the audience unbuttons his bowling shirt to show Nathanson that under neath he is wearing a Matt Nathanson concert t-shirt. Nathanson laughs and carries right with the joke and goes into the next song with out missing a beat.
After singing several songs of his album, he closes his set with his chart topper “Come On Get Higher” with the majority of the crowd singing along. Several of the audience’s members were not familiar with Nathanson by name, however they quickly were engaged with his show and should be gaining him many new fans.
