The Midwest Music Foundation is a non-profit organization in Kansas City set up to promote and support music and musicians. They want to bring music opportunities and awareness to the Kansas City and Midwestern area. A mission of the organization is to cultivate a united musical community throughout the region, and enhance musicians’ opportunities through bridging gaps in the industry.
They provide numerous services with an emphasis on advocating for the success of local music and the well-being of artists. The foundation has a benefit concert titled Apocalypse Meow which is a fundraiser for musicians’ health care. Originally an event for local musician, “Miss Abigail Henderson” and her fight against inflammatory breast cancer, it is now an annual event in November.

The other main programs and services the foundation offers are, Stay Tuned, and Live.Hear.Now. Stay Tuned is a series of shows helping to raise money for the production of the television series Live.Hear.Now. The last Stay Tuned concert event was May 8th at Davey's Uptown. Stay Tuned 2 will be August 15 at the Record Bar with the Expassionates, Bleachbloodz, Greg Enemy, and Jeff Harshbarger. The concert series fluctuates between Davey’s Uptown and the Record Bar, which are two of the foundations sponsors.
The Midwest Music Foundation has also created a television series called Live.Hear.Now which is slated to begin early next year. The music series will provide music exposure and information regarding the incredible level of musical talent within Kansas City and the surrounding region.
If you have an interest in music and the local community join in the cause to support local entertainment and become a member, donate, or volunteer your time for a number of production or administrative duties.
