Jaxon Records was founded in May, 2011 in Jackson, TN as a recording, mixing, and mastering studio. The partners have a long history in both Jackson and the entertainment industry. Jimmy Exum is the President and Producer of the annual Miss Tennessee Pageant. Rayburn Anthony is a well-known and loved musical artist. Lastly, Larry Rogers is a legendary record producer and successful studio owner. Together they will develop, license, and release albums and other entertainment related products in a variety of genres including, Gospel, Country, R&B/Soul and Rock. Adding to the Mix is general manager Bridges Holwell who engineers the mixing and mastering for the record label. Their aim, now as when they began, is to create through meaningful experience and their focus is on the independent music scene. “The music industry is constantly changing now more than ever. We have adopted a new business model and have adapted to a different process," Exum says. The days of effectively shopping an artist to major record companies has come to an end. Music Retail stores have gone out of business. “We are living in a digital world now and you must be willing to conform to it, if indie bands, artists and musicians have any chance for success. Furthermore, indie development is synonymous with downloadable music, so we are in the process of creating that access for the upcoming artists and their new releases. Also, in adapting with the new business model, we are looking for singers and bands that are hardworking performers juggling jobs and music opportunities. We plan to build the fan base by playing on tours. The thing that makes us stand apart from other studio is that we are blessed with great arrangers that have worked with us throughout the years. The different genres will pique the interest of a wide cross section of people and we believe that this is a successful business model. “ In August, Jaxon Records is opening their doors to singers / songwriters who want to be heard by the label. Both solo artists and vocal groups - will have the opportunity to show off their a cappella audition and state why they think they have what it takes to be a global superstar. The talent search auditions are being held at the studio at 215 West Lafayette Street in Jackson on August 6th and 7th. The hopefuls that are selected by producers to move forward in the competition will advance to the next round of callbacks and will be offered the opportunity to continue their audition, in person as determined by the producers. The callbacks are set for August 13 and the winner will be contacted by phone on August 17th. Contestants are required to send a CD of one song to Jaxon Records on or before August 5th, 2011.
