Susan Calloway on Chasin The Sun

Susan Calloway is a singer song-writer from Detroit. A pianist and vocalist whose ideas and depth behind every song are palpable the second the first track from her album Chasin The Sun starts playing. Susan started her musical career as early as 5 years of age with the support of her parents. “I’ve been playing music my whole life. When I was 5 years old I had my first solo.” Recently Susan has generated great buzz in the music industry due to her latest EP Chasin The Sun. “Chasin The Sun is a great starting point and hopefully the first of many great pieces of work.” Chasin The Sun went off to become R&R’s number 38 single in their Top 40 radio Charts category with Susan being one of only two independent artists to be on this list. Susan Calloway has also been featured in the musical side of the much hyped video game series Final Fantasy. “I actually did a couple of song from Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIII. My understanding is that the album with those songs is to be released later this year.” The success of Chasin The Sun is nothing short than expected, having worked with Gerard Smerek who has produced artists such as Aretha Franklin, New Radicals, Pavarotti and Kid Rock was what, in part, helped Susan and her music become a hit, “My producer Gerard Smerek made everything sound so beautiful and is really hard to not be inspired by people like him.” Susan will be working non-stop in the coming year, she will be in San Francisco on July 15th and 16th and in Chicago on August 1st all three dates for Final Fantasy Concerts.
