Spoon's Tranference hits stores Jan. 19, 2010.

Austin’s Spoon are set to release Transference, their first album of the new decade, on January 19. NPR has made it possible for you to hear the entire album during the week leading up to its release, as part of their Exclusive First Listen series using the player below. Recently, when I took a look back at my favorite songs of the past decade, seven Spoon songs made their way into my Top 101 Songs of the 2000’s.

The single ‘Written In Reverse’ in currently available as a digital single from iTunes and as a vinyl 7-inch at independent music stores including Cactus in Houston and Waterloo in Austin. The 7-inch includes the exclusive b-side ‘Mean Red Spider’. Transference can be pre-ordered from the band’s online store and there are a couple bundles available that include a t-shirt.

Spoon will be touring in Europe from February 14 - 20, but will return for a series of shows in the U.S. beginning with an appearance at Stubbs on March 17 during the annual SXSW music conference.
