Whilst out and about in the Cleveland Club scene I encountered a very interesting new band. They are called Shades of Remembrance consisting of members Elm Burgess / Bass; Lead vocals, Steve Johnson / Drums; Percussion and Al Bauhof / Guitar; Lead vocals. They have been playing regularly at the primary rock clubs expanding into Geneva, Pittsburgh and Toledo. S.O.R. has been featured on WJCU/Metal on Metal show hosted by Bill Peters. Both WJCU and WRUW have the band in regular rotation.
Driving Drums and Bass; countered with Progressive Guitar parts and leads; forms the base sond of this band. Some have compared them vocally to Fates Warning, Dream Theater an iron Maiden. All in all S.O.R. put on a great show with a dazzling array of guitar and bass riffs mixed with excellent vocals and song dynamics. A band well worth checking out.
