Daniel Barrett & Simon Wallace of porterdavis @ the Evening Muse
Austin trio porterdavis had a busy night Saturday as they performed the late show at the Evening Muse - this after being a featured act over at the Tosco Music Party held at the CPCC Halton Theatre.
An Americana roots and blues band led by Daniel Barrett on the slide electric guitar with lead vocals, features an English-man master blues harp player in Simon Wallace with Mike Meadows on an assortment of percussion instruments including a patent pending piece that serves as his drumset.
From traditional chicago style blues featuring a masterful blues harp performance to Americana rock led by Daniel's blistering slide guitar, these guys put on a show for the crowd at the Evening Muse tonight. It was good to get even more intimate with their music.
Their self-titled porterdavis debut album has been met with critical acclaim and is charting on the Americana roots music charts. The band was named indie-artist of the month in Aug 2009 by Americana Music Times.
Keep an eye out for porterdavis in hopes they return to Charlotte soon.
