Scottish singer Susan Boyle who first gained stardom on ITV’s “Britain’s Got Talent,” and gained international celebrity via YouTube, has gained the No 1 spot on HMV Canada's top 10 CDs chart.

MacLean’s reports that based on HMV’s national sales for the week ending Nov. 28, the 49 year old’s release “I Dreamed a Dream” beat out Lady Gaga’s “Fame Monster” who took No 2, Rihanna’s Rated R who place 3rd and Adam Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment who placed 4th.

The album, which was released in most markets on Monday, has been burning up the charts in Canada, U.S. and the UK.

HMV in Britain reports that  the album appears set to become the biggest-selling album of the year.
“HMV is now revising significantly its estimate for the total weekly sales upward from the 300,000 that we initially projected to a figure closer to 400,000,” UK HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo said.
“This would easily make the album the biggest and fastest-selling release of 2009.

In the US, Billboard reports that Boyle’s album is exceeding all expectations in U.S as well and is set to beat out Eminem’s “Relapse” as this year’s top debut- week seller.

According to the UK Mirror, the album also became Amazon.com's best-selling album of all time in pre-sales.

For Canadian Boyle fans in the Toronto area, according to Susan Boyle's official website, she will make a rescheduled appearance in Toronto on December 21, 2009 and will perform autograph signings at First Canadian Place beginning at 12:15pm ET.
