Simon Cowell’s all-star charity cover recording of REM hit “Everybody Hurts” to benefit Haiti earthquake victims will be released on February 7.
The BBC confirmed the release date of the single which features a superstar line-up including Susan Boyle, Canadian crooner Michael Buble, Miley Cyrus, Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi, Kylie Minogue, Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis, Robbie Williams, and Cheryl Cole among others.
Portions of the song, originally a 1993 hit for REM, were recorded in London and Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Rod Stewart said he could not think of "a more fitting song than “Everybody Hurts” to convey the unimaginable tragedy that is Haiti.”
Project organizer, American Idol/X-Factor star Simon Cowell, said it had been "an absolute priority for us all".
“Everybody Hurts” will be available for download on February 7 and on CD single the following day.
Half of the song’s proceeds will go to the Sun's Helping Haiti fund and the balance will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Did you know? Susan Boyle was severely on edge when she went into the studio to add her vocal track to Simon Cowell’s Haiti charity single due to the presence of her idol Rod Stewart.
