Guests who will perform at a Neil Young’s induction as MusiCares Person of Year during The 52nd Grammy Awards weekend will include Sheryl Crow, k.d. lang and James Taylor.
The Canadian Press reports other artists performing include Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Dave Matthews, Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Mellencamp, Crosby Stills & Nash, Josh Groban and Wilco.
The legendary Canadian singer-songwriter will be honoured at a gala dinner at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Jan. 29, 2 days prior to The 52nd Grammy Awards.
The Recording Academy and MusiCares Foundation present the award in recognition of artistic accomplishments as well as philanthropic work.
The 61year old former Winnipeger is the first Canadian to ever receive the honor. He follows in the lofty footsteps of past winners such as Bono, Quincy Jones, Elton John and Aretha Franklin.

Did you know? Neil Young has received numerous awards and nominations. He was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1982 and has been inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: first in 1995 for his solo work and again in 1997 as a member of Buffalo Springfield.
