This year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction will be marred by numerous no-shows.

Of the 5 acts inducted, 3 have confirmed no-shows including Genesis’ Peter Gabriel, ½ of ABBA (Bjorn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Faltskog), and, most recently, Jam reports the 2 remaining original members of The Hollies, guitarist Tony Hicks and drummer Bobby Elliott have declined to appear.

The abscences effectively scuttle any hope of onstage reunion peformances by the 3 legendary groups.

With founding Genesis member too busy with rehearsals to appear, the band will be represented by drummer/vocalist Phil Collins, guitarist Steve Hackett, and longtime touring members Chester Thompson and Daryl Stuermer.

In the absence of Ulvaeus and Faltskog, ABBA’s Benny Andersson will attend the ceremony with ex-wife Frida (Anni-Frid Lyngstad) while ex-Hollie founding members Graham Nash, Allan Clarke and Terry Sylvester will sit in at the Hall of Fame ceremony on behalf of Hicks and Elliot who are touring in the U.K.

Iggy Pop and the Stooges will be missing found member, guitarist Ron Asheton, who died last year while remaining inductee Jimmy Cliff is expected to attend.

The 25th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on March 15, 2010 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

Did you know? The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a concert series over two days on October 29 and 30, 2009 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The celebration included performances by U2, Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Simon & Garfunkel, Metallica, Lou Reed, Ray Davies, Ozzy Osbourne, Simon and Garfunkel, Jeff Beck, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Sting, and Crosby, Stills and Nash.

It's a bummer that Tony and Bobby of The Hollies have a gig with their touring band and won't be there. Especially Tony as he was one of the group's songwriters and contributed to their three-part harmonies. It'll be great seeing Allan and Graham, along with the underrated Terry Sylvester, who was another singer and songwriter in the band. Terry WILL be there, why are no articles mentioning him?

Hi John ~ My original source did not mention Terry Sylvester's name. But I've confirmed from Terry's official website that the ex-Hollie (now living in Canada) will indeed be appearing at the cermonies and have updated the article accordingly. Thanks for the info. ~ Rob
