Have you spent inordinate amounts of time and brainpower on the relative merits of various Muppet characters? Are you among the many who want to participate in a March Madness office tournament but lack the requisite basketball knowledge? If this sounds like you, then check out the 2010 Muppet Madness Tournament!

Operated as a joint venture by the founders of The MuppetCast and ToughPigs.com, the Tournament features an initial bracket of 32 favorite Muppet characters. The characters fall into four groups – “The Show” (featuring characters appearing on the original Muppet Show, along with Pepe the Prawn), “The Rock” (with characters from Fraggle Rock), “The Street” (composed of Sesame Street’s favorite residents) and “The Rest” (an assortment of characters drawn from wider Muppet history).

Visitors to the Muppet Madness website can cast votes for their favorite characters every 12 hours, starting today (March 15). Results will be announced by Steve Swanson, Ryan Roe and Joe Hennes on each Sunday’s MuppetCast podcast. Voters can also look for information on the Tough Pigs blog **ToughPigs.com. Although character eliminations will begin this week, look for the Tournament to continue until April 4.

Forget basketball, Muppet Madness is the Tournament to watch this year!
