QUESTION 1: What popular beverage made its debut during the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis?
ANSWER 1: Iced tea. Due to hot weather, the Far East Tea House wasn’t selling enough tea. Tea merchant Richard Blechynden poured some over ice, and an American favorite was born. Note: This version of history is controversial – some say that iced tea was invented earlier, and merely popularized at the 1904 World’s Fair.
