Russell Brand has reformed his wild ways, according to fiance Katy Perry. The "California Gurls" singer recently spoke with Esquire UK about her relationship with the British comedian for the August edition of the magazine.
Once an open book about his sexual escapades and past indiscretions, the newly "changed man" only has eyes for his future bride.
“He used to basically be a professional prostitute — now he’s not,” Katy told the magazine. “So he’s an extremist which can be both good and bad. I always needed someone stronger than me.”
Katy also revealed how she put Russell in his place and won his heart with one brave act. “I was 25, 30 feet away from him. And I threw the bottle straight at him: hit him smack dab on the head,” she said. “Can you imagine the horrible feeling he had, when he was used to getting everything he wanted? I was like, ‘You’ve met your match.’”
While the two celebrities seem like an odd pairing at first glance, Katy explained that they are more alike than people might expect. “I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I am you. You are me.’ Two divas in one house,” she said. “It’s like splitting the atom: it shouldn’t happen.”
As she prepares for an upcoming wedding with Russell, Katy will be busy with a number of new work commitments. The pop star is hosting the 2010 Teen Choice Awards on August 9. In addition, Katy could be making a transition into acting with a possible stint on "Glee" in the fall.
