Miley Cyrus is closing the door to one chapter of her life and opening the door to another. As Miley ends her run on the hit Disney show, Hannah Montana, the 17-year-old is preparing for her debut on the ABC show, "Dancing with the Stars".

According to E! News, Miley and her small-screen costars, including Emily Osment, Jason Earles and Romi Dames, had their final wrap party on Monday night after taping the very last episode of Hannah Montana. The party included plenty of dancing as people sipped on non-alcoholic beverages. "Episodes were showing on a screen all night long," a source told E! News. "They showed a final reel of clips at the end. Everyone crowded outside together and looked up at the screen. It was cute."

While some critics have panned her new video for "Can't be Tamed" as too edgy and highly sexual, the teen pop star has defended the video as a representation of her true self. After receiving a significant amount of press for the video, Miley will now be performing her hit song, bird cage and all, on Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night.

"I think it definitely shows a change of what people remember me as, but it's not trying to not be me," Miley told MTV News. "I didn't want to be just a character. I wanted to be myself and just in a bird-like form in the way I dressed."

Miley has been rehearsing non-stop in preparation for her appearance on Dancing with the Stars. According to one insider for E! News, "Miley wants to make a big splash, so she's put a lot of work into this performance."

I'm sure the video and her new image will generate a lot of PR but it makes me sad to see her wholesome persona a role model become tarnished. The extremely provocative and sexually suggestive new video shows a direction that my family won't be supporting. I guess I just thought she was different, better than using sex to sell. I thought she held values that were more inline with a faith I've come to see her and her family reference often. Guess actions speak louder than words.
