Director Michael Bay has announced the start of “Transformers 3” on his own website, “michael bay dot com.” The action king says:

“Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.”

Bay also adds a postscript for Megan Fox, with whom the filmmaker had a public war of words after Fox made some unflattering remarks about the powerhouse Paramount franchise in the press:

“P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.

Pain and Gain is right after shooting of Trans 3.”

Bay started as a rock video director. His feature film debut was 1995’s action comedy, “Bad Boys,” starring Will Smith, followed by “The Rock” in 1996, which co-starred Nicholas Cage, Sean Connery and Ed Harris. The Bruce Willis asteroid epic “Armageddon” was released in 1998, co-starring Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, Billy Bob Thornton and Steve Buscemi. In 2001 Bay directed “Pearl Harbor” with Affleck, Josh Hartnett and Kate Beckinsale. “The Transformers,” based on the Hasbro toys and cartoon show of the same name, came out in 2007, followed by “The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” this summer. It now appears he will direct three “Transformers” movie in a row.
