If you're in the mood for a day in Philadelphia here are the independent film which will be opening at Ritz Theatres this weekend:
The first featured film The City of Your Final Destination, also plays at Theatre N this weekend. In this film James Ivory directs Anthony Hopkins, Laura Linney, Charlotte Gainsbourg in a film about an Iranian-born graduate student who is writing an authorized biography on a deceased Uruguayan author for a fellowship. His initial permission is denied and he is encouraged to travel to try and regain his permissions and ends up involved in a hornet's nest of intrigue.
Stonewall Uprising is an archive footage-filled documentary which chronicles the dramatic event which put the gay rights movement on the map. There are interviews with many who were involved both protesters and police alike.
I Am Love is the story of upheaval in a wealthy family which occurs when the patriarch names his successors and surprises everyone by splitting this responsibility between his son and grandson.
Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky tells the tale of the illicit affair between creative giants which is bred by Stravinsky's struggle and Chanel's sympathy. Chanel meets Stravinsky after the premiere of his controversial The Rite of Spring. Seven years later she is a success and Stravinsky a penniless refugee. Chanel offers his family housing so he can work and they grow ever closer.
