The filming of "Remember Me" is currently taking place in New York City. Although, the film is set to be released in February 2010, the fan base is already enormous.
When fans of Robert Pattinson learned of his being cast in the film they immediately became obsessed with his next project. The question that arises is, "Would 'Remember Me' be as popular without Robert Pattinson?"
The film has other well known actors in it. This includes, Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper. Pattinson's love interest in the film, Emilie de Ravin, is known for her role in the television show "Lost."
The story that takes place is fairly interesting and makes for an excellent drama and love story. Pattinson, who plays Tyler, and de Ravin, who plays Ally, form a relationship. Both of them go through their own family situations, which could tear them apart. Depending on each other may be their only way to get through it all.
The success of this film is already being predicted. Is Pattinson the reason for this or is the story that interesting?
As Pattinson's popularity continues to grow, casting directors will become more interested. Is Pattinson a guarantee of success for any movie?
In 2009, "Little Ashes" made it into select theaters. The film had mixed reviews, but many were not pleased. It's based on the relationship, both personal and professional, between Frederico García Lorca and Salvador Dalí. Those that saw previews or the film spoke of the mustache that Pattinson wore, as Dalí, and how ridiculous it looked. These must have been people that didn't know what Dalí looked like or the kind of person he was. The film was not a success, but not really a failure either. "Little Ashes" is a very interesting story and should not be written off. There are those that appreciated the film and the hard work that was put into it.
"Remember Me" has one thing that "Little Ashes" didn't have, which is Pattinson will look like himself. Fans want to see him; his wild hair, his smile, and his eyes. Photos from the movie have shown Pattinson wearing clothes that he would wear when not shooting a film. It will be closer to himself, it's assumed, than any other role he has portrayed so far in his career.
As Pattinson's fan base continues to grow, the list of films will grow with it. Hopefully, the success of his films will not just be based off of him being in it, but his acting and the storyline itself.

it is only because of him
I will see it only for him...
It's true, I will see it only because of Rob. He is a great actor. I'm sure he will be pursued by the "Big" Hollywood Moguels in the very near future. Summit hit a gold mine when they cast Rob. This is mostly due to Kristen Stewart wanting him to play the part of Edward Cullen. Thank you Kristen!!!
yup pretty much.
without rob, i doubt this film will do well.
boy is damn hot.
yes, the only reason it's going to be a popular movie is because of Robert Pattinson. i think he's a well-rounded actor, after seeing him in his other works, not just twilight. his fanbase is huge, and they will support whatever role he were to take on.
People didnt really know where to see Little Ashes - that was part of the reason. It was a very limited release. Too far for people to travel. Remember Me needs a decent no cinema screens.
I adore Rob and will see anything he is in, but I also read the script for RM and it is a great story. Knowing what I know about the story, I'd have seen it w/out him, too. BUT, I'm so glad he is in it.
well, i WANT to see little ashes, but i can't. i dont even know where it's showing. it has VERY limited release. on the other hand, remember me is getting so much publicity because rob's in it. FACT! his fanbase is huge! it ranges from 8-78. i know certain people that fall on that bracket. and most are nutty about him.
Remember Me came to my attention as soon as I knew Rob was going to be in it, however, after reading a draft of the script, I believe I would have gone to see the movie if he hadn't been cast in it. It is an interesting story but having Rob in it just makes it that much more interesting to me as I am a huge fan of his. Although he is young, he has great potential and I am looking forward to seeing Rob grow as an actor with each role he takes on.
If you really would like some insight into Rob, check out "How To Be"... His first.

I want to see all next Rob's projects! I love him as an actor ...I loved him in "How to be" I didn't watch Little Ashes for the limited release!!! Plus Remember Me seems a really good story..I can't wait!
Oh, come on, everyone knows that all of his fans will go see this movie and any movie Rob is in more than once. Rob has legions of fans now and they just keep multiplying. Anyone involved in the business has to be aware of the mega-amount of $$ he will draw to their films. Just look at the attention his past films are getting now. "How To Be" was a tiny British comedy that no one would have even heard about if it had not been for Rob's success. The same goes for "Little Ashes". Also, the DVD sales of "The Haunted Airman" and "The Bad Mother's Handbook" is astronomical!! WE ALL WANT MORE ROB!!!!!! He is highly addicting.
I thought Rob did an amazing job in little ashes. I was very proud of him!
I would love to see Little Ashes, How to Be, the Haunted Airman but I don't know where to buy the DVDs. They are not distributed here in America. I will also buy any music CDs he put out. Unlike Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Leonardo Dicaprio, etc., etc., Pattinson is a MULTI-TALENTED actor and musician and if I may say, a very funny man as well. (Well, Zac Efron is supposed to sing and play music but not in Pattinson's league).
YEAH FOR HIM OFFCOURSE !!!!!!
BUT THE STORY SOUNDS GOOD TOO !!!!!!1
I am looking forward to seeing RM, not only for Rob, but for the story as well. Rob has said in countless interviews that the script is the most important part of any movie. And from what he has said this script is amazing. I have been fortunate enough to see Little Ashes and How to Be. I thought he played an incredible Dali. You could feel his emotions as he struggled with his feelings for Lorca. There were a few scenes that were absolutely heart wrenching. You could feel their love and his pain. Rob was amazing. As Art in How to Be Rob did a great job playing such a sad and lost individual. You just wanted to reach out and give him a hug and tell him everything is going to be okay. It is hard to believe that Rob is only 23. He is incredibly talented and has an amazing future ahead of him. I look forward to watching all of his future endeavors! Cheers!
I DO believe that this movie will be big because Rob is starring in it. Rob is big box office at the moment and anything with his name attached will draw viewers from "8-78". I'm sure the movie would do fine without him, but even if all his fans went to see it out of curiousity, it would make mega bucks.
I saw "Little Ashes" when it came out in NY. Now it's not the kind of film I would normally go and see, but Rob was in it. I noticed that 3/4 of the theater was filled with young "Twihards", as well. So even though that movie wasn't a box office hit, it made more money because of Rob than it would have without him. BTW, Salvador Dali really had a moustache like the one on Rob's face and looked just as ridiculous, but it was a great portrayal by Rob.
I think Rob just needs the chance to prove himself. The more diverse material he does, even if his young fans are the ones that flock to the theaters, will give him the chance to prove his worth. And he's worth a lot, imo.
I think "Little Ashes" had problems in distribution...I would have had to go 70 miles round trip to see it and it was only offered at 7:30PM which made it impossible to see!
Those who thought Pattinson looked odd in that definitely don't have a clue who Dali was!!!
I think ALL the interest in "Remember Me" is due to Pattinson.
I will see the movie mainly for the story, having Rob in it is just icing on the cake. For those of you who don't know where to get his other dvd's (BMHB, Haunted Airman, How to Be, Little Ashes), go to ROBsessed.com
come on guys, no question...it sounds like an interesting movie, but he's the reason it's been kicked up several notches. i would even say that he drew in the talent because he was the first one cast. pierce, lena and chris were all probably wondering, 'who is this dude? i've got to check him out and maybe some of his shine will rub off on me'
My husband asked me how drunk or how far from home would I have to be to throw him over for one night with RPATZ, I explained a half a glass of water and the back porch would do just fine.
i believe Rob is the main attraction for this movie. i won't lie i'll go see it just because he's in it kissing someone, but it also sounds like a good story as well. everyone wants a piece of Rob. and Summit Entertainment has taken him and ran with him. i hope others do too. not only is he a good actor, but he's also beautiful to look at.
"'My husband asked me how drunk or how far from home would I have to be to throw him over for one night with RPATZ, I explained a half a glass of water and the back porch would do just fine."
Im still laughing at Candy's comment.....
Watched How to Be and The Bad Mothers Handbook on Youtube but could not get Dali. I would watch anything with Rob in it. Even a cartoon!
Remember Me for Sure! Love him.
First of all, I believe I'm a pretty good judge when it comes to actors and their craft. I'm not going to go into details, but Robert Pattinson is not just a pretty face. Look at him!!! There's something about him...It goes way beyond that. He's a GREAT ACTOR! The "TWILIGHT" saga has just catapulted him to a category that will either "make him, or brake him...!" It's ALL UP TO US! NOT TO THE CRITICS! We'll show them! Let's gang up on them! Give Robert Pattinson a chance to prove what he wants us all to see. That he's doing this for the right reasons! Even if he doesn't beleive it himself. Robert, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND CONTINUE TO BE FEARLESS! GOD BLESS YOU!
WAO!!! I LOVE the comments on this blog! Everyone seems so literate and smart! I've found my outlet! Kudos!
I purchaed How to be, Haunted Airman (wonderful!), and the Bad Mother's Handbook from Amazon.co.uk. You need to have a dvd player that will change regions. I love The Bad Mother's Handbook. They are all excellent and I never tire of them. I am awaiting Little Ashes coming in July.
I would go see little ashes, I'm dying to go see little ashes, 70miles round trip would be great, it's no where. The largest release was at 16 theaters nation wide! how could it be a success. They didn't have a us distributor. I think it will do great on dvd it you can get it, I know I would be first in line!
I need to be honest I went to see little ashes, because Rob was in it...and I loved it..I left the movie theater almost in tears...This movie is soooo romantic and moving...and I will see any movie Rob is in, and I believe he knows well how to choose what movies are good for him...GO ROB YOU ARE SUPER TALENTED!!!!!
Sadly, Pattinson probably is the reason why this movie is so popular. I personally want to see it because I love Pierce Brosnan and the storyline seems pretty good :D
