Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen began showing in movie theaters on June 24, 2009. Fans were excited about the sequel, but critics were not pleased with what they saw. The movie didn't quite meet their standards. They made their own predictions, which pretty much called it a flop.
Transformers 2 has currently grossed over $200 million...not a complete flop!
Are movie critics always right about films? Does it really matter if they say thumbs up or thumbs down? Some believe that hearing other views on a subject help them to make a decision on whether or not to do or see something. It's just common curiosity. Critics are like weather people, no matter how many times they are wrong, they are still needed. Their opinions are valid and should be heard.
Most of the people that have seen Transformers 2 are torn; they like the action, but not the storyline. There are different things in the film that raise questions and cause some confusion. Certain scenes were almost sad, which is strange, but also nice, for this kind of movie. Obviously, people are willing to pay to see it, even if they hear that it wasn't that good. Maybe it's Megan Fox, Shia LaBeouf, or the bots, but this movie is doing very well for the criticism that it has received. Transformers 2 has only been out for six days, who knows how much more it will make? Only time will tell.

There are many movies that don't do well at the box office, but are fairly popular with critics and fans. The film industry takes a chance on putting out movies that they hope will do well and that will bring people into the theaters. Transformers did well when it came out in 2007 and everyone assumes the same for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Transformers 2 was a fun, exciting popcorn blockbuster. To judge it against films intended to provoke thought and intense discussion is moronic and illogical.
I enjoyed it, but to be MORE logical, I will compare it to the first film: While a fun ride, TF2 is not as good as the first, although portions of it (IE the forest scene) are amazing to behold.
7/10. If I was the target audience (12 year old boys), this would probably be the greatest movie I'd seen in years. lol
Does anybody know how much it cost to make this movie? It must have costed a lot, due to blowing up many vehicles, tanks, ships and whatnot. Least not forget those magnificent graphics...
Transformers 2 was a disappointment. Now, the success of transformers 2 in the box office was due to transformers 1 which was a fun popcorn movie to watch. I watch transformers 2 because I enjoy the original movie, and I regret giving my $10 to Paramont
I truly don't understand why anyone would wanna see this again! Yet there a lot of people I know that went to go see this movie... Again! I loved Transformers 1, in fact I loved it so much that I watch it frequently till this day!!!! I'll never get tired of that amazing movie! This one however, I can't see myself watching it once more! Is not horrible, since is a Transformers movie, but it is however a huge dissapointment.
Sure Transformers 2 isn't as good as the first one but it was just fun to watch. I'd watch it again and I'll get it on DVD. 8/10
I think it cost like 200 million to make
In general, It is unfair to judge a popcorn flick by standards meant for art. In general, a popcorn flick should involve a lot of combat, just enough plot to keep you interested, and otherwise just not offend the senses.
That said, quite aside from the rampant, annoying (and, more damningly: unoriginal) racism, the ninety undeveloped plot lines and paper-thin character development...
I think I'd rather shove my head through a meat-grinder than watch this film again.
I gave my 10 bucks to the theater the same reason everyone else did... I honestly believed you couldn't go wrong with the premise, and that the critics were just being stuffy.
Michael Bay went wrong with the premise. This movie will be a black stain on the franchise which will, itself, make back whatever they spent on it...
But which will seriously hinder all sequels from breaking even.
Hell. I will never watch another movie Bay directs. Ever.
