The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus began filming in December 2007. It concerns a traveling show where members of the audience can chose between light or darkness. Unfortunately, everything is not as simple as it looks and the devil has his say in the matter. The movie appears, from the synopsis on the Internet Movie Database, to be a film about love conquering evil. It should be interesting and will receive a limited release this Christmas.
Doctor Parnassus is played by the legendary actor Christopher Plummer. Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell also star. They fill in for Heath Ledger, who died shortly after he started filming this. Will it lead to another Academy Award nomination for the late actor?
The film sounds intriguing enough with the premise. Another promising fact is that the director is Monty Python alum and fantasy film directing stalwart, Terry Gilliam. Gilliam and Charles McKeown wrote the story.
