Edward & Bella and gown sketch by
Christian Siriano
Although a bit of the plot may be given away in the featuring of this article, since Eclipse began filming, there has been talk about Bella’s wedding gown. In Style asked several favorite, famous fashion designers to show the fans their vision of what Bella’s wedding dress would and should look like.
Bella’s dress is described as an early 1900s design (along with an antique engagement ring). Maid of Honor, Alice Cullen adds modern style to Bella’s veil and train. Bella’s mother says to Bella when she sees her daughter in her gown in Breaking Dawn, the final book “You look like you stepped out of an Austen movie” (Jane Austen, obviously).
Below are several of the designer’s sketches of Bella’s Wedding Gown.
Which one is your favorite? Don't forget Christian Siriano's three-tiered dress has a lace bustier and high ruffle neckline with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a full body, which is shown above.

Badgley Mischka's vision is a strong silhouette with vintage details like full-length lace sleeves and bodice, and a high-buttoned neck.

Brian Reyes envisions the fabric as a slightly tarnished bone color. The silhouette is a long skirt with a ruffled blouse and lace diamond inserts. The inspiration is a youthful spin on early 20th century Edwardian era elegance

This interpretation has a high-neck, puff sleeves and lace bustier. Erin Fetherston put her signature ethereal touch on the two-tiered body with a tulle and lace underlayer.
Lela Rose (right) focused on the rear view of her off-white, handcrafted dress. The simple body gathers at back into a sweet lace bustle.
Max Azria (left) focused on the vintage lace detail for his Victorian inspired gown. The dress is complete with lace peaked shoulders, full sleeves and a high neck.
Monique Lhuillier's creation (right) is a mermaid-style dress with lace detailing. The reworked take on a gown from the 1920s features a silk sash and high neck with cap sleeves.

Prabal Gurung had the most modern interpretation. The dress has a dramatic train, low-cut back and features a unique neckline with red embellishments for a touch of color.
This pink gown features a turn-of-the-century corset, bustle, full skirt, high-neck and dramatic detailed sleeves. Zac Posen keeps to the vintage theme by finishing with lace-up boots.

Beautiful! I'm a sucker for wedding dresses!
Lela Rose is my pick for best dress.
i dont think any of them are how i picture it in the book. they should let stephanie meyer have the final say on the wedding dress. its more her vision than anyones!
I think definitely the Monique Lhuillier gown, it has the same fanned out bottom fitted design Stephenie described and has the turn of the century lacy look too, perfect for Edward's real era.
i think the Max Azria dress is perfect. Its simple and not extravagant for Bella. I also agree with gianna, Stephanie Meyer should have the final say in the decision.
Monique Lhuillier's is my favorite. I think its 100% perfect not only for the movie, from the book and bella but also for kristen to wear.
Lela Rose is the best. Its elegant and something Alice would most definitely put Bella in. =)
Prabal Gurung !!!!
it doesn't go with the book ..but whatever ..kristen will look HOT in it
Lela Rose it looks more like what Bella would want and what was descibed in the book go with that one
Prabal Gurung is my absolute favorite BUT I believe that Lela Rose is the kind of dress not so much Bella would want because I'm sure Bella wouldn't want a dress at all but it's a style that Alice would have Bella wear for the wedding.
i love dresses and I'm a big twilight fan
I've got to vote for Monique Lhuillier's design. It is right for the part IMHO, and I do have to support Filipino artists and designers. ;)
Gotta be Lela Rose. Although it requires a little more cover up on the shoulders...
I Monique Lhuillier design. It matches the design described in the book the most and I like the look. Simple, but stylish.
Monique Lhuillier all the way. it seems perfect for the book, the movie, and its just beautiful, simply and elegantly.
