Mike Tyson does Sundance. An early review and a clip from the documentary.

What the hell is going on in there anyway?

Mike Tyson does alot of things. Fight. Bite. Swear. Flirt with female interviewers with all the charisma of a draft horse foaming on lust and madness. And now he's also doing the film festival circuit.

Ladies bring your pepper spray and high voltage stun guns, the Heavy Weight Champ, (now even heavier) will be prowling through Park City Utah this weekend promoting the documentary Tyson

Here's a new clip from the flick. And here's an early review from the festival.

I'm not the biggest fan of Iron Mike. I think he's one of the better reasons boxing's in the lousy shape it's currently in. Though there's no disputing his skills in the ring during his early Championship winning career. There's also no doubt that watching his two decade long ritual of career suicide hasn't been just as fun as well. The guy ruins himself almost better than any other sports figure/celebrity in the game today.

I'm sure I'll be seeing this, Mike Tyson's got that lunatic self-destructive ambition that needs to be observed - but not at the close, personal, strike-zone range, but from the comfort and safety of a movie house seat. I'm always down for a good career wreck. Though if it were up to me, (and these things never ever are...) I would much rather celebrate the career of a real fighter like Welshman Joe Calzaghe in film than a tabloid pariah like Mike Tyson. But that's just the kind of boxing fan I am.

Tyson opens in New York and LA April 2009.

Tyson definitely had the talent to become one of the greatest heavyweight champions ever, if not the greatest. Bad managerial problems, and obvious emotional problems cost him later in his career. We have been shown countless documentaries about Tyson since his glory days twenty years ago. The ex-champ must really need the money. I just can't see the public shelling out their money to see more of the same old story.

We met Mike at Mustang on Friday Night and my daughter asked for an autograph and Mike was very nice. Everyone can change. Thanks Mike for being so nice.
