'Clash of the Titans 2' will most likely be horrible.

As horrible as the remake of Clash of the Titans was, it might be rather surprising that we will be able to expect a sequel to the film.  But it seems that any sort of effects extravaganza that might be produced, will get the financial backing, even if there is no actual plot to back up the effects that are assaulting our senses.

Louis Leterrier (who directed the remake) will not return to the director's chair for this film.  Instead, it appears that Jonathan Liebesman (who also directed The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: the Beginning) will be taking over the director's duties for the sequel.  And there is already word that the filmmakers are planning to film the movie in 3D from the start, instead of jumping on the 3D bandwagon after the fact, and having to convert everything from 2D.

Greg Berlanti ("Green Lantern"), David Leslie Johnson ("Red Riding Hood") and newcomer Dan Mazeau have already written up a treatment for the upcoming film.  And now Mazeau and Johnson are trying to hammer their treatment into an actual script.  Hopefully, this script will make any sort of sense (unlike the last one), though it's doubtful that the mythology that the characters are actually based on will be honored in an intelligent sort of way.

We will be able to expect a return of both Gemma Arterton and Sam Worthington, who both stared in the remake.  Neither actor was anything spectacular in the remake, and Worthington was overly stiff in his performance.  And if truth be told, their performances were not enough to cause anyone in the  audience to actually care one way or the other if they survived until the end of the film.  Well, that might not be entirely true . . . their performances might have been bad enough to make some audience members want bad things to happen to both of their characters.

If this upcoming film is going to be anything like the remake, we will most likely expect another boring film, with characters that we don't care about.  It is likely that this will be one to skip.
