Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett star in the newest remake of 'Robin Hood'. The movie will be released May 14, 2010 and is being directed by Ridley Scott.
Ridley Scott also directed Russel Crowe in 'Gladiator' and this 'Robin Hood' looks to be a lot darker in tone than the previous screen versions.
Growing up in England, I am extremely familiar with the story of Robin Hood and have even been to Sherwood Forest. Who doesn't love the man who robs from the rich to give to the poor?
However, this adaption of the story seems to be focusing on the beginnings of how Robin Hood became the Robin Hood we know him as today; which is definetly a story I haven't heard or seen before. This movie has quite a few well-loved versions to live up to- but if anyone can do it, Ridley Scott can.
The People's Choice 2010 awards also had an exclusive preview of the movie during its broadcast.

i like just about every russell crowe movie; also he looks like my nephew - maybe that's why i like him.
Can't go wrong with Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett.
Great actors but I don't think this is my kind of movie. It looks too violent for me.
I saw this promo during the Peoples Choice last night.. it looks AWESOME!
Love Robin Hood. Russel Crowe an interesting choice!
Interesting....not my choice of actor for Robin Hood, but they didn't ask me anyway. :)
This one is on my go see list.
Looks good!
Looks good.
Ridley Scott's movies are usually dark with lush production designs. I've always admired the mythical Robin Hood as a concept. In the States we seem to champion the anti Robin Hood who robs from the poor to make the fat cats even fatter. That's why we bail out the bankers and not the homeowners.
