Kristen Stewart recently gave an interview to 'Entertainment Weekly' where she spoke about her character Bella Swan. However, something is not quite right and would seem to indicate that 'Eclipse' the movie has strayed from the book's contents or Kristen Stewart doesn't know her character very well.
The quote that has everyone up in the air is:
"I wasn't as tortured as I was on 'New Moon'. Bella really knows what she wants in Eclipse. She's not just a dumb kid talking because she's in love."
However, those of us who have actually read Stephenie Meyer's book know that this is the book where Bella really isn't sure about who she wants as she finds herself in love with both Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).
While it seems as if the movie is focusing somewhat on the love triangle, we see both men declaring their love and fighting for her, her comments would seem to indicate that as far as Bella Swan is concerned there is only one choice. Which, while romantic and sweet, is not accurate to the story of 'Eclipse'.
So did Melissa Rosenberg change the story in the script so that Bella Swan doesn't believe she is in love with both guys? Or does Kristen Stewart just not really know the storyline very well? There is a 3rd option that the quote was misspoken and off and until we see the movie dear Twi-hards we shall never know!
'Eclipse' will be in theaters June 30th. If you want to watch 'Eclipse,' you can choose from many great movie theaters in Los Angeles. Some of the best one's I've been to are:

Um....when is Bella unsure in the book??? Just because she realized she also had feelings for Jacob never made her unsure of Edward. Her feelings for Jacob never compared to her feelings for Edward at all so she never experienced any unsurity.
I hope someone answers me because this so called love triangle is killing me. It's barely in the books and yet still somehow dominates the movies so your post is intriguing because apparently you read something I didn't as well.
Bella quotes this to Edward "If
all else perished [that would included Jacob], and he [that would be Edward] remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else
remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger.
I nodded, again to myself. I know exactly what she means. And I know who I cant
live without. "
I don't think she was ever unsure of her feelings even if she realized that she liked Jacob. Her confusion came from not understanding why she wanted Jacob around and we later find out in Breaking Dawn that it was all because of the imprinting and Renesemee.
i agree! She was never unsure. She said that she loves jacob but edward is her soulmate. She just doesn't want to lose Jacob! thats the confusion!!!!!
I pick Door #3... because I'm a Team Bella sort of gal... ;-)
She just reads her lines!lol Though in Eclipse it made it seem like she was in love with both, the reality is you cannot be in love with 2 people (or a werewolf and vampire)at the same time. Her heart always belonged to Edward, it was her brain that said.."pick Jacob!" lol Whatever, I'm on Team Alice so what do I care;)
Would not be the first time Hollywood changed a book.
Sometimes Hollywood *has to* change the book. The producers did this with "Prince Caspian"--and no matter what anybody says, it was the only thing that could have worked halfway decently. Books and screenplays have entirely different conventions, anyway.
Is it possible that the very actress who plays Bella Swan is one of the few women in her age group who has not read the books? Shocking! ;)
I will see the Twilight series when hell freezes over. The way things are going that could be next week.
I love reading the book and then seeing the movie.
:)
i wish she would be with jacob i dont like edward
I think you said it the best Chris. I don't think Bella was unsure of her feelings for Edward in Book 3. She did realize that she loves Jacob but knows this does not change her feelings for Edward. Bella also says in the book that if there were no such thing as vampires and werewolfs, she could see herself with Jacob but that is not the world she lives in and Edward is the one who she cannot live without.
And I understand Kristen's quote about the movie, not because I think they changed the movie much from the book but because Kristen, I think, was talking about what Bella wants for herselve and her future, that she wants to be with Edward and become a vampire.
Bella always knew she was in love with and interwined with Edward. She also knew there was a link with Jacob that she could not deny. She told Jacob that her heart would always belong to someone else. That link with Jacob confused her when others including Jacob kept trying to tell her what was better for her. She waivered once as she said goodbye when Jacob begged and she felt he might be going to his death. SPOILER She finds out why she was drawn to Jacob in Breaking Dawn.
Comment means the author of this article needs to read the book again.
I hope its a good movie for those who like this series.
Personally, as an adult reading the book, I took that Bella was intensely unsure. She has a guy she knows she loves, but then Jake is this really amazing and loyal guy. She knows he will be loyal. She makes out with him to test her feelings for gods sake. I am sorry that 12 year olds cant comprehend that...I think its easy to say that this movie will be yet another hack job.
Thanks for further updates on this megahit and it's stars...
Cheers..
I can't really comment...haven't read the books or seen the movies.
