So it's been about 24 hours since the Oscars aired last night. What are everyone's thoughts on them? Out of the 19 predictions I made, only 7 were actually correct. That's about a 37% ratio. Not very good, but it does leave room for improvement and it was my first time actually trying to guess the outcome of the awards. The Hurt Locker walked away with six awards while Avatar took home three. Up and Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire both walked away with two Oscars, as well. What is perhaps the most interesting little nugget of information walking away from the awards show is that Sandra Bullock became the first person ever to win both a Razzie and an Oscar in the same year. I've listed the Oscar winners below while the full list of Razzie winners, including the "winners" of the past decade, can be seen here.

The only films I really feel like got snubbed were Moon and Where the Wild Things Are for not even being nominated. Sam Rockwell should have been nominated for best actor. He basically talked to himself that entire film and was phenomenal. It was just surprising Where the Wild Things Are didn't even get a costume design nomination. The Wild Things looked amazing. Even if you didn't like the film, you have to admit they looked great. I was also really expecting Inglourious Basterds to win original screenplay. At least Christoph Waltz won for best supporting actor though. Other than that, everything else is pretty much what I expected. I just kind of randomly guessed throughout most of the nominations as I expected Hurt Locker and Avatar to duke it out for who would win more Oscars. So that's about it, really. Any final thoughts on the Oscars? Snubs? Should something else have won than what actually did?
