Vin Diesel in XXX
UPDATE: Rob Cohen backs out of this project to go Medieval.
So far there isn't a whole lot of informtion out yet, but there will be another XXX film entitled XXX: The Return of Xander Cage coming out in the summer of 2010. Vin Diesel is set to return to the franchise and reprise his role as Xander Cage, the extreme sports nut who was recruited by the government to go on top-secret "James Bond" type missions. Rob Cohen, who directed the first film has signed on to direct this one as well.
Michael Ferris and John Brancato are set to write the screenplay. Recently they have written Terminator 3, Terminator Salvation and the upcoming Bruce Willis Sci-fi film Surrogates.
It's hard to get a grasp on Vin Diesel. It almost seemed like he was allergic to sequels opting not to participate in the second XXX film (one of the worst films of all-time) or the second or third Fast and Furious films. Then he goes and stars in the fourth Fast and Furious movie and now the third XXX movie. Are these filmmakers getting him a lot cheaper when the series starts heading down the crapper? Or does he see himself as the series savior, doing these films as a favor to the fans?
What do you think? What's up with Vin and will this XXX be any good?

well i think he will do great better then that ice cube from the second movie. yes vin diesel is the best actor who brings back joy and action to the movie
Didn't they say they found his character Xander dead in Bora Bora in the second film? Wasn't that the reason they went with Ice Cube's character in the first place?

I believe you are correct. They did have a line about Xander being dead and that is why they brought in Ice Cube. However, the spy world is like the comic world: they can always bring you back. All they have to do is say that he was retired and they set up a fake death so no one would look for him. And now, he is forced back into action.
At least that's my opinion about how they could bring him back.
